“For I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel preached by me is not of human origin. For I did not receive it from a human source and I was not taught it, but it came by a revelation of Jesus Christ” - Gal. 1:11-12.
The gospel means, the good news. But it is more than a good news! It is the good news about Salvation in Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind.
In the ancient world, the term “gospel” is used to proclaim victorious news about battles. Later that term was used not only for announcing or proclaiming a victory of a battle or an event, but about Christ’s birth, His sacrifice to offer salvation to all those who believe in Him, through His death, burial and resurrection.
So then, what is Gospel? Gospel is the good news about salvation through Jesus Christ from God. So anyone who believes in Him will not perish but have an everlasting life.
